In the Municipality of Central Elgin, residents have access to two arenas that come equipped with community centers and ice surfaces. These arenas offer a wide range of winter activities, including recreational skating, skating lessons, figure skating, ringette, and hockey.

Belmont Arena and Community Centre

  • Bleacher seating with capacity of 500

  • Bleacher seating with capacity of 780

Skating Rules

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, we ask that all ice users follow our skating rules. 

Public Skating Rules 
  • Skaters under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted on the ice surface
  • Playing tag, speed skating, or reckless skating will not be allowed
  • All skaters must skate in the same direction and will not be allowed to skate in a group with three or more skaters holding hands in a line
  • An adult must accompany preschoolers
  • Food and drink are prohibited on the ice surface
  • There will be no stopping or gathering near sideboards or blocking entrance areas to the ice surface
  • No throwing snow or any other substance while in the arena
  • No three wheel strollers allowed on the ice
  • All skaters 17 and under must wear a helmet

Winter rentals are available from September to the end of March for the above activities.
