For the offices of the

MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL ELGIN

  • The MAYOR shall be elected by general vote of the residents of the Municipality
  • The DEPUTY MAYOR shall be elected by general vote of the residents of the Municipality
  • One COUNCILLOR WARD 1, shall be elected by the residents of said ward
  • One COUNCILLOR WARD 2, shall be elected by the residents of said ward
  • One COUNCILLOR WARD 3, shall be elected by the residents of said ward
  • One COUNCILLOR WARD 4, shall be elected by the residents of said ward
  • One COUNCILLOR WARD 5, shall be elected by the residents of said ward

NOMINATION PERIOD:  Monday May 2, 2022 to Friday August 19, 2022

ELECTION DAY:  Monday, October 24, 2022

 Any person wishing to run for one of the above mentioned municipal offices may do so, by filing with the Clerk of the Municipality, their completed nomination papers, endorsed by at least 25 eligible electors, accompanied by the required filing fee ($200 filing fee for Mayor, a $100 filing fee for the other positions) payable in cash, debit, or certified cheque. 

To be filed no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022.

No campaign expense may be incurred, and no contribution can be received until the nomination is filed.
