Municipality of Central Elgin Sets 2024 Tax Rates

Zero Percent Budget Increase for 2024

CENTRAL ELGIN – The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin has set its 2024 Tax Rate with a zero percent increase. With total annual expenditures expected to be approximately $35,319,336, the 2024 Budget includes major capital projects valued at approximately $15,773,728. The capital work includes the West Port Stanley Stormwater Management Project and the undertaking of a Harbour Asset Management Plan in addition to roads and parks enhancements across the Municipality.

 

“I am proud that this Council continues to deliver on our commitment to balancing affordability with responsible and effective service delivery,” said Mayor Andrew Sloan. “I look forward to seeing all the ways that this Budget contributes to making our community a great place to live and invest in the year to come.”

 

While the Municipality of Central Elgin tax rate has been set to zero percent, residents of the Municipality may see property tax impacts through the 2024 Elgin County Budget and education rates established by the Province.
