Snow Squall Warning in effect for:

  • St. Thomas - Aylmer - Eastern Elgin County

Periods of brief but intense snowfall are expected. Visibilities will be rapidly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow. When: This morning. Additional information: A brief burst of heavy snow is expected as a cold front moves through this morning. Northwesterly winds gusting to near 70 km/h may result in local blowing and drifting snow. The morning commute will be impacted. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
