Canada Day is approaching soon, Central Elgin! Keep in mind that your waste collection day will be moved one day ahead of the usual schedule next week (during the week of June 26). We're happy to announce that Port Stanley's Main Beach has been awarded by Swim Drink Fish Canada the Blue Flag again! This is the 13th year of this honorable award!The Blue Flag is the world's most recognized awards for eco-friendly beaches and marinas. Blue Flag beaches must meet 33 criteria across 4 categories:

  1. Water Quality
  2. Environmental Management
  3. Environmental Education and Information
  4. Safety and Services

CENTRAL ELGIN - June 5, 2023 – Effective immediately, all open-air and recreational fires are prohibited anywhere in the City of St. Thomas, Town of Aylmer and the Townships and Municipalities within the County of Elgin. Open air fires are defined as any fire outside of a building and include bonfires, campfires, burn barrels, outdoor fireplaces/chimineas or any other fires set in open air.
